what are the differences between the honors and regular discussion sections? aren't they the same classes with the same material? are the exams harder, or are the curves figured just within the honors sections, or what?

As far as honors math is concerned, I've heard that it's a lot more theory and proofs rather than practical application. For any other classes, I have no idea.

I've heard that for the humanities, etc that the work is not harder as such just less busy work. So you'd have more indepth discussions and papers, but less of the mundane stuff. Some people would find that great, others not so.

Sometimes honors sections do have more work. For example, a POLSCI 111 honors discussion requires longer papers. If I remember correctly, it was around 5 pages for honors sections, as opposed to around 3 for regular.
