I made the mistake of overlooking the honors application, mainly because I thought I needed my final ACT scores by the time the application was due, which I didn’t have. Long story short, UT was my safety, and now I’m attending.
I know, even though I’m fairly qualified for the Natural Sciences honors program, honors is too late for me now, but now I’m wondering if it’s a good idea to at least live in the same dorms. I liked the idea of a the more challenging environment with a more academically focused student body, but are the chances to live in the honors dorm good, considering me not being in the program. Also should the fact that I wont actually be in the same classes as most of the others too be a concern? The last thing I’d want is to feel disconnected from the rest…
I’d say not likely to live in honors dorms this coming year, but worth asking. Could you room with an honors student and get bootstrapped in?
You can transfer in to honors after your first year btw. Think about it. Also, the FRI is open to you even if you are not in honors. You just have to seek it out more vigorously.
You would definitely have to have an Honors roommate to get in, but i’m not sure if they’ll allow that if the honors dorms are high in demand this year
I know someone in EHP looking for a roommate for honors housing! Are you a guy or girl?
On the UT19 roommate page I haven’t seen too many people interested in honors housing, so I’m sure you’ll be ok.My friend is sort of in negotiation with someone about rooming right now, but I’m sure he’d love to talk to you and assess his options. He conveniently has a CC account, so I’ll tell him to check it and call him over, haha.
YO @FutureOilBaron WHERE YOU AT
