Honors dorm for a non- honors student?

I didn't end up applying to Deans Scholars and I really regret it. However, I am going to apply to DS for spring semester of my freshman year. Can I put down an honors dorm on my application even though I am not an honors student?

If so, which one would I have the best chance at?
If not, what is the best non- honors dorm, especially for a more serious student? (I heard Moorehill was good)

“It is not likely, as honors program participants have first preference.” - Division of Housing and Food Service, The University of Texas at Austin

I emailed them with a similar question “What if my roommate wants Honors housing and IS in the Honors program, but I’m not? Can we still room in the Honors housing?”

Okay well do you know the honors dorm that would most likely have openings? ( I guess the least demanded dorm?)

That I do not know, all I know is that you don’t get to pick which of the honors halls you want at this point when you’re selecting your preferences.
And to answer your second question, Moore-Hill is quieter yet still in a good location like Jester. However, Jester has the in-room sink (I don’t know important that is to you).
