Honors English??? Urgfent

Hi all I have a somewhat urgent question/situation I need some advice with. I'm currently in honors 10th grade English with a 73. The highest grade I've gotten on something that wasn't a completion based assignment has been an 80, however the past 4/5 timed writings/ essays have been C-'s. My marking period ends on October 31st and I have until then to drop the class and go into normal 10th grade English. My only problem with normal English is that next year I'll have to take a semester long class of expository writing and restrict myself to only one semester of honors English next year and on year of AP (AP Language). The honors English class I'm in right now satisfies the requirements for the expository writing, however most kids will go into AP Language next year, but I know that my grades will not be suitable to get into AP Languageand I'll end up getting into most likely 2 semesters of Honors English next year and then still one AP (Language) senior year. Regarding the future future, this has given me reason enough to give up on Stanford, as my GPA has dropped from a 3.87 unweighted from the end of last year and at the end of this quarter I'll have a 3.49 because of my grade in English. I'm now looking at medium difficulty colleges and universities such as Cal Poly, UCLA-Berkeley, Bucknell, etc. Will dropping out into normal level English and messing up my honors/AP's for junior year for a better GPA sack my chances of getting into those level colleges?

If anyone could provide me with some advice rather quickly that would be awesome, but I'm so stuck in between right now

Its better to try to improve than get a drop/fail.

Why are you doing so badly?

@comput1 i wish i knew… I’ve always struggled with writing but not this severely for this length of time. The corrections range anywhere from “what does this mean” to “where’s your textual evidence” right after a quote, but I think my major error is in the actual analysis of the text, I’m missing something and my teacher is persistent on not explaining it to me because it is a pre AP class. FYI If I drop before the 31st it won’t show up on my transcript at all, only the normal level English will.
