Honors Experience Day

Does anyone know where we should park and where registration is?

i believe you can park in the parking structure across from the student center. Registration will take place at the front entrance of the student center, building 113 on this map: http://today.uci.edu/pdf/UCI_09_map_campus.pdf

The invitations says, "Complimentary parking in the UC Irvine Student Center Parking Structure at Campus Drive and West Peltason Drive..."
I can't go. Anyone who attends please review the day. Did it make you more or less likely to choose UCI? What did you like/dislike about Experience Day and the honors program?
How big a crowd showed up? Let us know. thanks!

First we registered, then a student came up to me and told me about the school. She was really nice and was able to answer all my questions about dorms and class sizes. Then we went into a conference room where we saw a powerpoint about the school and a couple of professors and other people talked about research opportunities and quality of education. CHP students also answered questions. They said turnout was greater than expected

Then, we went on a tour of the campus. It was a nice campus, really big with a lot of nature. Everything looked so new and clean, however the campus gets pretty empty on weekends because Irvine is a commuter school.

Then we had lunch. Ton of food. Freshman 15 is real. Then a really nice girl gave me a tour of the residence hall. I really liked it... not like traditional dorm. It was like a big house with several rooms, living rooms, bathrooms, kitchen/game room, laundry room. Pretty spacious and very clean.

Then we broke up into majors. I'm biology, so we went into a biology lecture hall where they boasted about how their students went on to big name grad/med schools. There were a couple girls to answer questions. The biology department seems impressive to me and CHP seems like it has amazing opportunities (mandatory research/thesis, humcore seems like fun, professors who actually know you by name, CHP retreats, etc.).

Overall, pretty campus, friendly people, great school, amazing dorms. I liked everything about Experience day, but I wish I could have gone inside more of the buildings. It made me more likely to choose UCI, however I don't know if I'll go there because I got a scholarship to UCSB.

Any specific questions?
