I've pretty much narrowed down my campus choices between College Ave. and Busch. I've heard that Brett is where the parties are at among the honors dorms. I've also heard that Mccormick is social suicide. Both of those statements may very well be gross generalizations, but that is just what I have heard. I'd like a dorm/campus that is a mix between the two. I plan to take my academics very seriously but at the same time I want to meet new people, socialize and party when I get the chance. Which dorm do you think would be best? If not either of those, do you think it would be better to try for non-honors dorms on Busch?

Thanks in advance! :)

I heard Brett isn’t too bad especially because everyone’s really competitive anyway and up to their necks in work so you’d have a good mix of people who party and who don’t and it kind of balances out the dorm in general. I think it’s better than McCormick because it’s more social.

If you do non-honors you’d get to be with people going through the same thing you are whereas honors dorming is all mixed.

Good luck!

Brett itself is horrible. It’s a horrible dorm. McCormick will destroy it anyday.

With living conditions aside, social suicide? i dont think so. It’s not the dorm’s fault if you dont make friends. It’s your fault. McCormick isn’t that bad. There are a few ppl who are strictly… academics. But there’s a lot of others that are friendly and very social. College ave is just a bus ride away.

Personally, I’ve seen a pretty few hot ass girls at McCormick if you’re into that. It also has study lounges , 2 of them on each floor, so you don’t have to go to the library.

Worst case scenario, pick Brett over McCormick if you’re uncomfortable making friends outside of your dorm. However, if you’re a social person just pick McCormick and make friends in suites area, outside chillin, anywhere in general. Oh yeah there’s a lot of pot smokers at McCormick.

(Not all of your roommates are going to be nerdy/geeky/antisocial ppl) There are going to be at least one, but besides that, you’ll find cool ppl to chill with. dont worry.
