Honor's Housing Experience

I'm looking for some feedback from parents who have kids in York honor's housing. Did they sign up for that housing choice their freshman year? Do they like it? My D is a freshman this year and chose to live in Yadkin. She is considering living in York next year, but her friends are not honor students. She is extremely involved in athletic and music organizations so she hasn't had time to socialize much with the Odyssey Club, thus she doesn't know many honor students. What information can any of you give me?

My D signed up Freshman year, currently lives there as a sophomore and plans to live there next year as well. She has made many new friends and really likes apartment style living vs dorm room.

Not sure if you received my private message, (system said something about having posted 15 times before sending private messages…) but I was wondering about her experience in York. How did she find her roommates freshman year? Is it as quiet as advertised? My D is a freshman and lives in Yadkin but is considering York for next year. Problem is that she doesn’t know many Honors kids. She’s an athlete and very involved in the music program so she hasn’t had much time to get involved in the Odyssey CLub.

I sent you a message, not sure of it went through.

LuckyDog, yes I did receive it. Thanks so much for your input! So happy that your D has found a place to live where she’s comfortable. I’ve heard that only 3rd floor will be Honors next year and that floors 1 and 2 will be substance free. Do you have any idea how many Honors kids like in York this year and about what percentage of them are boys/girls? And is the floor co-ed?

4th floor will be for Freshmen Honors next year, so 3rd will be for upperclassmen. Not sure the ratio, but all floors are co-ed.
