Ok I know one of the big plusses of honors is the guaranteed central/hill housing but I just saw rooms are substance free which means no drugs or alcohol in the room. Not a big deal at all for me BUT HOWEVER it also states "no behavior stemming from alcohol premmitted" which sounds like "you can't come back to your room drunk". Now this is kinda an issue for me but it seems really hard to believe they can regulate being drunk/tipsy. I just wanted to ask current honors students or anyone who knows about it whether or not this is actually enforced in honors housing and if its ok to come back to your room at night drunk just to sleep.

I remember learning on our tour of The University of Michigan that Honors Housing boasted the highest number of MIP tickets. Obviously, this is due to the increased scrutiny of the RA’s in Honors Housing…and not because the Honors kids are a bunch of drunks. If alchohol is a priority for you, perhaps you should consider not living in Honors Housing.

thanks alot
bump…

Won’t be a big deal. I had friends who get drunk as hell and lived in South Quad, no problems.

yea thanks…bump

I wouldn’t be too worried once you are in the dorm sleeping. Being drunk and disorderly would be another matter. I would be more worried walking around outside drunk since ‘your body is a container’ and you get the MIP ticket from the police not the RA. If you’re drunk, perhaps you should stay where you are until you sober up.

Also I hear that they are cracking down on underage drinking in Ann Arbor. So be careful no matter where you are.

South quad is a great location.
