But how would that work for the Honors College - since decisions haven’t come out yet (as least my son hasn’t gotten anything)?

What I’m taking from all this is that there is no guaranteed housing for Honors college students…UNLESS the university itself reserves XXX number of spots based on how many students they plan on accepting.

Don’t know. It’s all very confusing and a bit annoying…

According to the housing page of the Auburn website, only Presidential Scholars will be guaranteed housing and placement in an Honors residence hall. It doesn’t address Presidential Scholars who do not choose to be in the honors college nor does it address honor students who are not Presidential Scholars. Grcxx3, I think I read in an earlier post that you paid for housing in October. Your child should be guaranteed a spot on campus, but if you need to email housing and they can tell you. I did and was told that my daughter is guaranteed a spot as her deposit has been received.

I just looked at my D’s letter and Honors students are NOT guranteed housing. It says that deposits need to be paid and then you can request Honors housing. It says that typically a waiting list begins in March or April. Presidential Scholars are guaranteed housing.

proud_mom - actually, we have NOT paid for housing. I was going to…but I kept putting it off because altho Auburn is offering the most $$$, it really can’t offer DS what he wants in terms of academics. It’s just a tough situation. I have put in the deposits at Penn State and Purdue.

I was just hoping that being admitted to the Honors College would guarantee space in the Honors dorm. Guess I missed the part where it say “nope!” Oh well…

Do you guys know when non presidential scholars find out about acceptance into the Honors College; is there a set notification date? I know the deadline to apply was Jan 8…

My D just got her Honors College acceptance this week, so hopefully yours is on the way Charthelatte. Have you decided between Auburn and Clemson yet?
