Honors Housing

I've heard rumors that Plan II students (and possibly students in other Honors Programs) are guaranteed housing in the so-called "Honors Quad." Is this true? I'm a little worried because I submitted my ApplyTexas so late (and I haven't even filled out the housing app yet).

buuuuuuump

As far as I know nobody is "guaranteed" housing anywhere. That said, I think almost all honors students who want to live in the Honors dorms have space available to them.

I'm the current president of the Honors Quad at UT. Honors students who are freshman are alotted most of the rooms in the coming year at the honors quad (60%-70%?). Thus, if you request it, you are likely to get into the Honors quad. It's a lot of fun and I highly recommend it, at least for your first year. I know lots of people who come back their sophomore and junior years to stay in the quad just because its such an awesome experience.

If you want to visit the quad and your in the Austin area, the building are Andrews, Blanton, and Carothers. You can also check out the facebok group online for "Honors Quad Residents 2008-09".
