If you meet honors eligibility requirements can you wait to apply for housing? I read somewhere that housing for honors students is reserved, but do they save it for everyone that could be in honors?

My observation was only based on limited information from S2 scholarship experience 2 yrs ago. Thing may have changed for 2009 or next yr. So take it with a grain of salt. When son received his total final package of his scholarships then, he had to sign and accept the scholarships. On the same form, he also had to check a box indicated his interest in honor housing. The due date was sometime in April. Honor dorm slots at that time were reserved by the honor committee. In fact later on when son signed up for housing in June-July, he cannot select the honor housing dorms at all. He had to put 3 alternate housing selections. Somehow in July-Aug when thing was finalized, he was assigned to Lechner Hall.
PS: We don’t know how it work if you are honor eligible but do not receive scholarships.

As soon as my daughter was admitted, we filled out a housing app. Since she is honors eligible but we haven’t heard about scholarships yet, she just put the honors dorms down as her choices and checked the box that she wanted the honors learning community. It is very confusing, because there is also an honors housing application. I don’t know when you are suppose to fill that out. Hopefully everything will work out

Apply for honors housing as soon as you can. There is not enough space for everyone, and it fills up really quickly.
