honors if not in yet?

Since son has not been notified yet if he's admitted, will he not be able to be in the Honors Program?

Many schools invite students to apply, or have a special application with a deadline, usually in early December.

I'll check the website, but wonder if anyone's had any experience with this.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Montegut. It does not mean he is not in. There is no application to the Tulane Honors Program as a freshman, it is strictly by invitation when he gets his letter of acceptance, assuming he is accepted. You will not see it online either. Basically what happens is you will see his accept/reject status online first (if you are checking frequently) and then the letter shows up anywhere from a week to a few weeks later. The letter is the only place you see if he gets a merit scholarship and if he is invited into the HP.

If he is not invited upon entrance, he can earn his way in by getting at least a 3.6 GPA his freshman year. I don’t know if that is an automatic entrance or if he has to apply at that point, but it is a minimum requirement.

Hope that clears it up.
