Hello everyone, I would like to try to transfer to the Honors Program through their lateral admissions program. I was wondering if anyone had any experience/tips on this process.

I don't have any experience since I'm going to be a freshman myself, but I am going to be in the honors program. I guess what you could do is do excellently in all your classes, as well as become actively involved in UF campus life. Perhaps you could be persistent and ask them about the backgrounds of students who were successful in lateral admissions? Anyways, here's the stuff about lateral admissions. You've probably already seen this, but I'll post it anyways.

Lateral Admission: Incoming students who do not meet these requirements may still apply to join the program at the end of their freshman Fall Semester by way of lateral admission. A minimum UF GPA of 3.5 in the Fall Semester is required. Students who enroll in at least 14 credit hours will have preferred status when applications are reviewed. In the past most successfully admitted students have applied with GPA's well above the minimum of 3.5, and they have also been actively involved in the UF community via extracurricular activities and organizations.

Lateral admission is the absolute last chance for students to enter the Honors Program; we cannot accept any applications from students who have already moved beyond the Fall Semester of their freshman year. If you have any questions about the lateral admissions process, please e-mail John Denny at jdenny@honors.ufl.edu.

Does UF include senior year gpa into the honors invitation equation?

I don't think so. They send you an invitation with your acceptance stuff. They might look at your mid-year transcripts though.
