Honors Medical Scholars Program

The above article clearly shows that attending a top college is not essential to be successful or produce groundbreaking discoveries.

As an applicant to many top tier schools, I understand that it’s hard for many high school students to understand this (me included). It is human nature to desire top tier schools for most people and I’m no exception  The article is among many, however, that show the possibilities of dedication :)

Haven’t heard anything via email or mail, but it seems pretty apparent I was denied.

I just got the email notifying me of my denial to the Legal Scholars Program. So I’m sure they sent them out to the Medical Scholars as well, if were denied.

No email for me, but I finally received my rejection letter in the mail today.

These are very difficult programs to enter so don’t feel slighted. :)

do u know how many students are granted an interview and how many are selected?

No, I don’t have exact numbers. But from reading about the programs over time it appears few are interviewed and fewer selected.

for those who interviewed, how was it?

The interviews are EXTREMELY relaxed. Both of my interviews went very smoothly and both interviewers seemed to know my application very thoroughly so be sure to review the application you sent in prior to attending the interview.

Overall, the interviewers just wanted to confirm that I am the same person in my application that I am in real life. I did a lot of preparing beforehand that was probably unnecessary. I studied current health issues and the politics around health policies but it wasn’t really needed. My second interviewer asked if I had been following the recent health debates and I simply said yes and mentioned a small implication and she agreed and just moved on.

Don’t stress!
