Honors/OOS scholarships chances?

I'm out of state, but I've been a diehard Spartan my whole life- my dad is an alum and brainwashed me thoroughly from a young age. I've been going to MSU football games since I was 8 (and seen some absolutely incredible games) despite never actually living in Michigan, met Izzo a couple times, etc. Totally in love with the place. But I'm not dumb enough to pick a school based on sports, so it helps that MSU is in the upper echelon of the Big Ten and one of the best publics in the country.

It also helps that my teenage hormones * really * enjoy seeing the gorgeous MSU girls prancing around campus on game days a few times a year. Seriously, holy crap. Miniskirts for the early season ND games and leggings for the Big Ten season. Mother of God.

Anyway, to the point (class of 2013).
230+ PSAT, will be at least a National Merit Semifinalist
2270 SAT, will likely retake
Right now, about 8.75th percentile class rank
5 AP's through junior year, in 3 subjects (science, history, English)
Will do 4-5 AP's senior year
Class rank will most likely rise at least 1-1.5 percentage points, but probably not enough to make it to the 5th percentile
Meh extracurriculars, some volunteering and sports, no clubs

I'm aware that MSU gives auto-Honors admission to people who have a 1390/1600 SAT + 5th percentile class rank, but I only meet the SAT part, but am near the 5th percentile part. MSU says that they admit people who are close to the auto-cutoffs, so does anyone know what my chances of getting Honors admission are?

Thanks, go green.

Your chances are probably pretty good to get into the honors college especially if you can increase your class rank. If you don’t get formally admitted to the honors college within 4 weeks of acceptance to MSU (or late december, if you applied super early) then read this here [Honors College Admission](<a href=“Admissions Overview - MSU Honors College”>Admissions Overview - MSU Honors College) you can write an essay to get consideration for honors college admission. You will definitely receive scholarships whether you get in the honors college or not - but there is a pretty big cutoff for scholarships if you can make eligibility cutoffs for the PA program as shown here [The PA Program](http://www.honorscollege.msu.edu/research_opportunities/professorial_assistantship_program.html) Also, you are essentially guaranteed a $5000 scholarship for study abroad just by being an out-of-state student with a good enough GPA. Good luck!
