Honors or not?

<p>Hi! I am done with my UW application and now I am debating whether or not to apply for Honors. I have quite a bit of college credit from AP tests and through the College in HS program from the local community college. So I need help deciding whether or not Honors is something I should consider. With my stats, would I be competitive for Honors?</p>

<p>Here are my 2c. Honors @ UW is no big deal. You will be fine with departmental honors.
Only advantage for those majoring in eng is that some of the intro classes have honors sections which are smaller the the regular ones.</p>

<p>I spoke to a prof at bioengineering and his advice was to do just dept. honors.</p>

<p>In any case, it doesn’t hurt to apply and you can always opt out.</p>

<p>What’s the difference between dept honors and honors or are they the same thing? Also, do you think I would be a competitive candidate for honors?</p>

<p>You should apply to the honors program, as you have a really good shot. Your GPA, AP scores, and EC’s are excellent, your ACT is solid (enough), you are in-state and, most importantly, you are a female Engineering candidate. Good luck.</p>
