If anyone has information regarding the Honors Program and Scholarship Day for this year, please share. Thanks.

I’m curious about Honors/ Scholarship too.

I can’t remember where I read this, whether it was here on CC or on a blog comment, but an admissions officer explained how they do it. It looks like they send out Scholarship Day invitations out within two weeks of acceptance. Not sure if they do it through MyUNC or mail or both. I’m a little confused about the Honors Program though. She said that they also send out the Honors Program invitations separately at the same time as Scholarship day invites. But I think that during one of the information sessions I attended, the woman said that the Honors Program invites are sent out with the welcome packets. Hopefully we’ll find out about that within a day or two when people get their packets.

I really hope that they’ll send out online/email notifications, I’m from MN and a lot of my college mail from the east coast has been extremely delayed. I had to send 3 different copies of my transcript in before they finally received one! Mail sent to the Midwest seems to take even longer, I’ve been receiving letters more than four weeks after they were sent. Hopefully any news from UNC will be online so I won’t miss anything important :)

I think Honors Program invites are mail only, but I was looking at last year’s thread for Scholarship Day, and the invites showed up on MyUNC at around the same time that people got the letters.

Here is the answer, from the UNC admissions blog:

Thank you for the update. I am a first deadline candidate. Can you please advise as to when and how potential candidates for merit scholarships, including Pogue, will be notified this year? Also, when and how will those accepted to the Honors Program be notified?

Dear Melanie:

Great question. Right now, we’re concentrating on finalizing our admissions decisions, but candidates for scholarships and the Honors Program will be notified in the coming weeks following decision notification through paper letters or email. Different departments handle those opportunities so notification methods may be different.
