Honors Program and the SAT 2's

Did everyone who was offered admission to the honors program take the sat 2's. I know they are recommended, but not required. My son a junior. His stats:

Sat Reading 630, 730 Math, 710 Writing

He would like to apply for the honors college next yr, possibly engineering. He is signed up for the sat 2's next week, for US History and Math 2. On the practice tests he got 750 is the US History, but didn't do as well in the math. I'm wondering if he should just skip it since he got a high sat math score. None of the other colleges he is applying to require it. Any thoughts?

Hi lower. Inasmuch as many colleges require or recommend SAT IIs, it is probably good to have scores from at least 2 of them. You might want to keep in mind that the SAT IIs are usually curved so that your son has a good chance of having his math score bumped up. By the way, did you son do a lot of studying for the US History SAT II ?

nope..just took regular sats and got accepted into honors

of course I don't work very hard so I suggest taking them because you might receive more scholarships
