Although I received full tuition for Miami University, I did not get into the either of the honors programs. I don’t know if this is because I applied by the extended deadline or not (which was March).
I really want to get into the honors program and I heard that there will be an application for current students in fall. Can someone please tell me the selectivity of the process and some sneak peek into the application’s supplemental essays? I will appreciate any advice.
What were your academic stats such as ACT score and Weighted GPA? Are you in state or out-of-state?
1440 SAT and I am an international student. I think that my scholarship packet comes primarily from need-based aids.
Son got in the honors program after initially not getting in when he got admitted. The steps included going to an informational meeting, writing some essays, and getting a letter of recommendation. They review your application and grades for your first semester. Then if you get accepted past the first round you must prepare a presentation and present to the staff.
His tips to getting in: Maintain a high GPA and a good resume/get involved on campus. Write a good essay and get a good letter of recommendation.
