Honors Program Decision

I have submitted my essay and everything. Does anyone know when I will hear whether or not I have been accepted to the Honor's College?
Has anyone been accepted yet?

Thanks

yeah I got in today, submitted my essay like 10 days ago.

I got in today by mail... so my guess is decisions get made fast.

what were your stats? I submitted about 10 days ago too and haven't received anything, not looking too good for me.

I got in about a week ago.

I also received an email from a lee jeewon hinting that I would be awarded the writing competition award. Anyone else? No money apart from regents yet though, which is truly surprising and kinda frightening.

Did you write the essay or did they just admit you?

Got in - then submitted an essay that I had written for another school to be eligible for that book award or w/e it is.

Which essay topic did you guys pick?

I didn't wait for an invitatin but instead sent in a request. I submitted my essay around the first week of Nov. Is that what you guys have done? I am getting worried that i haven't heard back? Any thoughts?

For those who have already been admitted, what are your stats?
Thanks and congrats to all who are already in :)

how do you apply for the honors program?

you get an email inviting you.

I too submitted the essay, but only few days ago. I guess I will have to wait for few more days.

I admire U of Mich admissions people. They are fast and the process is perhaps the easiest amongst similar colleges.

if i havent gotten an invitation, but i want to apply for honors, should i email them a request?

If you receive an email, is that a sign that you have a good chance of being admitted to it?

As long as you reply in a reasonably timely manner, I'd imagine you'd have a good shot, but it's not a guarantee. I could see them sending out e-mails to the top 20% of applicants to try and get a yield of 10% of all applicants*, so if you're in the 10-20% range it kind of depends on how many people above you end up doing Honors college. From their perspective, it's better to have too many applicants than too few, so I don't think they'd limit their invitations only to people who are guaranteed to get in.

*Numbers pulled from where the sun doesn't shine, not guaranteed to reflect reality.

Yes, an e-mail invitation is a fair indicator of your chances.

nevermind, i got an email invite to Wisconsin's honors program, not UM's. thanks though!

Ha! I don't think everyone thinks this. This wasn't the case when I applied and was accepted. It took forever to get a decision and I was qualified (never deferred either).
