Honors Program decisions

Honors applications are due by Feb. 1 and the website says that all notifications will be made by mid-April. But does anyone know if they all come out in mid-April or do they come out little by little throughout the spring?

My friend got her notification in February. So I think they release the decisions as they are made individually.

SN: Have you (or anyone else) received a notification that your application was processed?

“When we receive applications from students, we send out a confirmation to indicate that the application has been processed.”

About three days after my son sent in his app, he got an e-mailed notification from the Honors Program that read “Thank you for applying to the Honors Program at the University of Georgia. We have received all required documents for your application and your file is complete. The Honors Program Director and the Coordinator of Recruitment and Enrollment will soon begin the process of reviewing applications for fall 2012. We will notify you on the status of your application before mid-April.”

Thanks for the reply.
I actually got my confirmation yesterday, which I guess means were many applications. Best of luck to your son!

I got my confirmation earlier this week. I hope I find out soon… gah!

Son applied a couple days before Feb. 1 and got his decision yesterday.

Great news for you and your son!

Was the decision via e-mail or snail mail? My d has not received hers yet. I think we mailed the packet 2 or 3 days before the deadline.

I got my letter in the mail on Saturday. I nearly fainted when I discovered that I was accepted. I thought that my SAT would surely hinder my admittance, but I was wrong. Good luck to everyone else.

It was snail mail, and the envelope is suspiciously thin - only a cover letter and a one-page form to complete.

No Honors letter waiting in the mail today either. Hope this is not a bad sign, as my d has her heart set on doing Honors. Are a lot of you out there still waiting?

“It was snail mail, and the envelope is suspiciously thin - only a cover letter and a one-page form to complete.”

I was also able to see the “pleased to offer you” tidbit through the plastic-covered cutout of the envelope.

Still have not received a letter regarding Honors program :frowning: Any other applicants still out there waiting?

We haven’t heard yet either…

I haven’t heard anything yet either but a friend of mine got in and he said something about being at a banquet today for those who were accepted… so I’m guessing the accepted students have been notified already…

My d got her honors acceptance on 3/9 while some of her friends heard nothing. Then this past week some friends got denial letters. There are still a few more who have heard nothing. At this point I assume they are finalizing the regular decision acceptances (visible on 3/30) to see who else might be offered honors acceptance. So right now, no news is good news as that means you are still in the running.

I still haven’t found out. I’m pretty sure this means I didn’t get in. Sigh
