Does anyone know when the decisions for next year's Honor Program will be announced? How do they announce - email or letter? Thanks.

I had heard decisions would be April 1. Has anyone heard yet?

My daughter has not heard. I was told that they hoped to announce last week, but I don’t know if notification would be sent by letter or email. Hopefully we will hear this week.

Just heard…received a letter in the mail!!

Orangestripe,
That is helpful. I expect my D will get a letter today then. Did your D get accepted? What state are you in?

Yes, she was accepted. We live in North Carolina.

Thanks. We are in MA so the letter will likely take another day or two.

Went to visit the campus this week with my daughter and she is also interested in honors program. If you don’t mind me asking what was your child’s GPA and SAT scores? How flexible are they on the SAT scores? Must you have a 1250 min. That is what they mentioned to us.

Rose64- Once your child has been accepted as a student at HPU, he/she will receive an invitation to apply to the Honors program, IF he or she meets the minimum academic standards. Not sure what the minimum SAT is, but I believe the minimum ACT is a 28. There is also a minimum HS GPA of 3.45. Once the student has been invited to apply, they can complete the online application which involves several (4-6 I believe) essays. Applicants are notified a few weeks after the application deadline, which this yeR was March 15th.

My daughter has been accepted to the Honors program for this coming fall. She submitted ACT, not SAT scores. Her GPA at the end of her junior year in HS was a 4.1. It is down a little now, due to difficulties in her AP calc class, but still well above the minimum 3.45.

Hope that helps!

Yes, thank you for the info. My D also has high GPA 4.2. Have not received ACT scores yet.

I am seriously considering High Point. Would I be able to hold off on my decision until after I know whether or not I have been accepted?

If I remember correctly, I was notified before the actual enrollment deadline. You should be okay, I admire your ambition!
