My daughter was thrilled to be accepted into the Miami Honors Program for Fall 2015 but we’ve received no information about the program and the info on the Miami website is rather vague. It looks like they complete Honors Cluster Courses and Honors Experience but what exactly do those courses entail?
Can anyone who is currently in the Honors Program or has a child in the program describe the benefits of the program? Also, would you recommend the Honors Dorm? My daughter wants a dorm that won’t be crazy and where she can study but she’s also very social as well. Very interested in hearing more about the Honors academic program and LLC.
My D enjoys Honors a lot. Cluster courses are nice due to access to experienced faculty, low class sizes, rigor, and opportunity to make friends with other Honors students. Can’t say what courses will be offered next year. Honors has undergone some changes recently, and the literature received last year was a bit vague. Not much more detail than what is on the website. You may learn more visiting the Facebook (www.facebook.com/miamihonors) or Twitter.
If you are close to Oxford, or planning a trip to MU soon, have your daughter contact an Honors staff member:

My daughter and I had a great visit to the Honors house during her senior year to learn more about the program and what it could offer her as she was deciding which college to attend.
As far as the honor dorms, check out some of the other threads going on:
