Hey does anyone here know anything about the honors program? I got in, the letter said something about a mandatory honors workshop at orientation. Where is that at? Also, does anyone know how much extra work is needed in the honors program. Are the benefits worth the work? Some people have told me I am wasting my time and should drop out immediately.

Thanks

was there an official letter for honors. when i click honors on myucla, this is all i get:

does this mean im in?

when i log into myucla there is a tab for honors application. when i click on it there is a mesg that says status: approved and under that there is a link to see the letter. i dont know what you are getting your stuff from

everything they tell you in the orientation is online. it was a supreme waste of time, but go anyway in case you have questions.

ive taken 7 honors classes (more than transfers need) and i haven't found them to be any more difficult in any way than my regular classes. of course, i was careful about the classes i signed up for and always made sure i was interested in the topic, so i found them a perfectly good use of my time and units. honors classes offer the opportunity to work more closely with professors who are at the absolute top of their respective fields. not a waste of time imo. also they tend to cut out the BS, so they're easier than normal classes in that you're generally just expected to do your reading and write a decent paper. oh, and show up. i've excelled in honors classes without even doing too much reading but i don't advocate that.

and ill say it again. priority registration at UCLA is pretty instrumental in the opportunities for course selection you'll have. anything that gets you priority is worth the time.
