Honor's Program Overnight-Anyone Going?

Hi,

My D was invited to go to the University’s Honor Program Overnight. Unfortunately, we have a previous engagement and she doesn’t want to take the time out of school. Do you think this will impact her getting in and/or her chance for scholarship money?

My daughter was invited and is going. We cannot go with her, but she has friends at the school, so she will be going on her own.
I don't think not going will hurt your daughter in any way. I'm sure they understand that not everyone can make it on a specific date.

My s didn't go to see American until after he was accepted. He then went to the spring honors overnight. It didn't affect his scholarship chances (he received a full ride before his visit). I don't think it will matter. However I think the most important part of the process were the nights he spent after he was accepted. He got a real feel for each school he was seriously considering at that time. His mindset was different at that time than while filling out apps.

Do you think that she should e-mail them that she is interested, but cannot attend?

Mbe...couldn't hurt!!!
I'll have my daughter post her thoughts here for you after she attends if you'd like.

Yankeegirl, please do ask your daughter to post; that would be wonderful. We just got back from a day visit to AU; wouldn't you know that the invitation for the Honors Overnight was waiting for us when we returned! We would have scheduled things differently if we'd known the overnight was a possibility for her, but at least we got to make a one-day visit.
