I applied to LSA under early consideration around October 28th and was accepted very quickly (about 2 weeks later). Since my scores/grades are definitely within or above the range of the Honors Program, I was a little surprised I didn't get an "invitation"--do these letters come with the acceptance letters always? How competitive is acceptance to the Honors Program if you apply without an invitation? Thanks! :) I'm out of state; I don't know if that makes a difference.

i got an email about an "invitation" to the honors program, but i (and everyone else i've heard from, at least in this year) still have to write an essay. i think you can apply without their invitation- you'll probably do fine.

Don't wait to be invited. Just send them an email and apply. I would suggest that you review the requirements to be sure that you really want what the program has to offer -- and don't just assume that it's what you want.

what are some of the pros/cons of the honors program?
