Honors Program Selection

How are the program admittances determined? First come first serve? I'm just wondering because ILS (my top choice) seems to only have approximately 75 spots.

^ You will be asked to give a “weight” to each of the programs. So if you really want a certain program, give it the maximum weight. If you are undecided between two programs, you can split your weight between them. The Honors College will then make assignments, trying to make as many people “happy” while being selective for the most “in demand” programs. I hope this makes sense.

Yeah I put the maximum weight for the ILS program but that leaves only 45 points for the rest of the programs (to which I put Gemstone). I left the remaining 4 blank so I hope that they would accommodate me even though I technically only chose two programs.

^ those are 2 “high demand” programs with limited seats. ILS will assume AP credit. If you get “bumped”, I believe you will default to University Honors.

Yeah if I end up going to Maryland I’ll go in with 13 AP courses and 15 AP exams so hopefully the competition won’t be too insane >.<

University Honors would actually be my third choice so that sounds good! Thanks for your help.
