I just started my application to university of texas! yes i know :( but i wanted to apply to their plan II honors program, but it wont let me access it until i turn in my regular application first. what is on this honors application so i can get a head start it? more essays?

also, is being hispanic a bad thing when applying there?
Regards!

Yes, an essay and the prompt is on the Plan II admission page. You will also need an expanded resume which you will upload. No letter of recommendation is needed.

It will take at least 24 hours to bet the supplement, so be sure to get your app in asap and make sure your transcript and scores arrive by Dec 1, 2010.

The prompt is on a web page in the Plan II section of the UT website. The Plan II Admissions section is very detailed, with much helpful information and tips.

Just a tip: you can submit your UT application before you submit your A & B essays or scholarship section. If I had known this a month ago, I’d have a lot less anxiety right about now :p

Really at this point it does not matter. Because Plan II requires the essays, you have to submit them. If you want it bad enough, lock yourself in your room for the next few days and just do the work. Have you sent your transcript and test scores? This can be done before the application and you need to do this right now to even have a chance and it must be electronic at this point.

Yes, it’d probably be best to finish everything as soon as possible. But it helps (a lot) to have access to the honors application, even if you haven’t finished your A and B essay. Not to mention it supposedly takes round 3 days for the admissions office to process your application and give you access (it only took a day for me, but I had a UTEID already).

When you fill out the scholarship section, there should be an option to “apply later” near the beginning. Choose that, but make sure you remember to finish and submit it.
Submit your application, and before it submits, there should be an option which allows you to choose what to submit. Do not check the essay box. Again, make sure to finish and submit these before the deadline. If you have questions, I recommend you call UT and see if they can help. Not sure if the admissions office is open tomorrow, though.

collegeshopping has the right idea, however. With barely a week left, you should really finish everything ASAP.
