Honors program

My son has applied RD to Penn State. He is thinking of applying the the Honors program but honestly they expect quite a bit! Wondering what his chances would be to get into the Honors program and how much of an impact SAT scores have. He normally tests really well, but his SATs were not extremely strong.

His stats are:

SATs 1900
3 AP Classes
Approx 14 honors classes
7th in class of 230 - strong public school
Selected for 3 leadership programs
Tennis - 4 yrs - 2 yr captain
Swim - 3 yrs
Band/Jazz Band - 4 yrs - 2 yr drum major
Various other ECs
Lots of community service

Any feedback on his chances would be appreciated!

his weighted GPA is 4.8

The deadline is today I believe. They also don’t look at sats, but if he were to apply he might not have nest chance because his essays would be lacking due to shortage of time.

SAT scores are NOT used in the admissions process to the Schreyer Honors College. Grades, essays, letters of recommendations and extra-curriculars are the deciding factors.

Correction, the deadline has passed.

Thanks for the info. I did double check w/ Admissions. The deadline was yesterday.
