<p>Well, it’s not meant to be a scholarship. It is a program. Honors is meant to allow a handful of intellectually curious students to experience closer connections with faculty and to enjoy a lively environment in which students and faculty members learn from each other through a common commitment to intellectual inquiry, careful analysis, and energetic exchange of ideas. They get smaller more interactive core classes, a freshman residence with similarly curious students, special topics courses that only they can take throughout their stay at Tech, and a number of special events tailored to allow honors students get a more “intimate” academic experience at Tech. There is also an Honors Challenge Fund that provides start-up funding for the ideas of honors students and sometimes funds part of the cost of attending conferences. </p>
<p>If you would have done it for just money, then Honors probably isn’t the best option for you, but that doesn’t mean there are not reasons for doing it.</p>
