So what is this program like What are the benefits of it?

no one? It seems this program is pretty new. My D received mail yesterday (as I assume petedawg also did) with acceptance into this program. I see they have honors sections of some classes a separate dorm, and special programming/ interactions with profs. I did not see anything about priority registration as other honors programs include.

My D is accepted to a honors program at another state school, and a smaller private school. She had pretty much cut GT off the list because she wanted the smaller/closer experiences. It is now back into consideration.

One thing that seems nice is that there is no minimum GPA to stay in the program, only other factors. Since GT has a severe grade deflation reputation, this removes that worry.

Georgia Tech does not have severe grade deflation. The average GPA is a 3.1, which is consistent with other STEM programs at other schools (actually higher than many). Georgia Tech’s average GPA is lower than the average GPA at other schools because GT does not have the traditional very high average GPA majors (education, family studies, art history, etc.)
