This isn't a direct transfer question, but the action I take here could greatly affect my chances.

I'm a freshman at Baylor, pre-med and currently a neuroscience major (though I haven't taken any courses, I'm fairly sure I'm going to stick with it). After having a good semester, I was just admitted into the Honors Program, however, I'm unsure as to whether or not I should enroll.

The reason for this is the fact that every semester, one specific class will be a pre-chosen Honors class studying so-called "great texts" in a liberal arts/literature context. Thus, I'm going to have to drop a class I would like to take every semester to take a course I really am not interested in (ie Medieval Lit., excuse my poor spelling). The real upside to the program is the fact that I get to choose the second honors course of the semester, be it a science, linguistic, or english course.

I'm as well worried about the courses sinking my GPA a bit, but that's a fair trade off when it's officially listed as honors on my transcript.

So what should I do? I'm not even entirely sure I want to transfer, given that Baylor has a decent rep. for pre-med, but the neuroscience dept. is pitiful. To boot, I'm not even Christian (gasp!).

Any input is greatly appreciated :)
