Honors Program

I was admitted to the LSA not too long ago, and received a letter today about the honors program. I would like to be part of the honors program if I get accepted to it. If I got the letter "considering my admission to the LSA Honors Program" what are my chances? My GPA isn't outstanding, I have a 33 ACT, and I'm an OOS applicant. Do I really need to write their additional essay? What are the perks to being in the honors program?

There are millions of threads regarding the "perks of the honors program" on this forum. They include better, smaller classes, better housing, and living with some really smart people. I don't know too much about your chances, but if you got an invite and do the essay, I'd say over 50%.
