it said i should know by march 15... but i haven't gotten a decision. i was e-mailed a confirmation that they received my app, though.

give it another 5 days and then call UF. although they recieved it, they need to evaluate and do whatever they need to do to determine if you will be in it or not.

I'm guessing you will get an email on 3/15. UF seems to handle a lot of correspondence this way. What is everbody's thoughts on the hononrs program? Does it really enhance the undergraduate experience at UF? How about Humme Hall, is this the way to go for honors students?

I believe the application indicated that you would hear ON the 15th. I know Hume is beautiful. Our daughter has chosen not to live there next year because she wanted to be closer to the other dorms, classes and thought she would feel isolated.

Hume RULEZ YOU.

you live in the best dorm i have seen in ANY public school

Has anyone heard about their honors application yet? Do you think they will notify acceptees via email on 3/15? How do you think the honors program at UF compares to those at other state universitie?

has anyone received the honors program email yet?

I just got the email! Here's what it says...

Congratulations! You have been accepted to the University of Florida Honors Program.

Over the next few weeks, you will receive information from the Dean of Students Office regarding the summer Preview Orientation program. Once you register online (http://www.dso.ufl.edu/nsp/orientation/) you will automatically be scheduled to participate in the Honors portion of Preview. Please note that the sooner you register for Preview the more likely you are to get the date of your choice. In May you will receive information about reserving your place in an Honors course for the Fall Semester. Until then, we wish you the best during your senior year of high school.

We are excited to welcome you as a new member of the Honors Program. We know you have worked hard to get here, balancing difficult classes and heavy course loads against extracurricular and social activities during your high school career. In your time at UF, we expect you to continue this trend of excellence, to grow and develop intellectually and socially as you move into a new phase of your life. We have high expectations of Honors students; if you decide that you are not interested in this caliber of engagement and challenge while at UF, please contact our office to notify us of your decision not to participate in the Honors Program.

Great for you Freakedout. i think I will just miss the mark in my math score. I think that decision is based strictly on sheer numbers and both of my other SAT's were over the mark but not the math. GPA should have been ok for me too. They don't take into account the writing score when calculating. So were you above their posted #'s of 1400 (math/verbal) and I think it is 4.0 GPA. Whatever way to go!!!

Are you going to UF? Did you apply anywhere else?

Yes, I was froshtobe. Best of luck to you!

I haven't decided yet GoodOldSong. I'm still waiting to hear back from Penn (ED deferred), UVa, and W&M.

Anyone else get the email?

Freakedout, would you consider UF? Are those the only schools you applied to? Sounds like really tough schools to get into....I heard that UVA is awesome....but hard to get into out of state....good luck.....

I am curious as to the stats of students accepted to the Honors Program. My son's were 1470 SAT, 4.08 unweighted GPA, 6 AP's and National Merit Finalist.

^ umm.. unweighted GPA is 4.0 max..

It seems like he would fit the profile. As best I know, they have to have a 700 min in Math and a 700 min in verbal and a 4.0 - not sure if that is weighted or not

or NM finalist. That's an automatic in.

yup i got into it.

this owns. UF + Honors + free = 0wnage

yo FreakedOut, i got into UVA with a hopefully letter and i got into some of the ivies with hopeful letters.... specifically dart

Have you decided where you are going and what are your stats for Honors?

I also would like to hear stats of those admitted to honors. D's stats are 2280 SAT, NMF, AP Scholar with Distinction, GPA-4.4 something
