I got invited to participate in the Honors Program this fall. I was wondering if anyone has anymore information about it. It didn't seem like I would benefit at all by participating except for smaller classes that would be more difficult. Are there any current students on here that have any advise or more info about the program?

Hey purplecloud,
I'm in the honors program now at UNC and it's great. It is pretty much what you make of it - I think all you are required to do is take 1 honors course each semester for your first 2 years - so it's not like other honors programs where you live in seperate housing, are secluded from other students, etc. The honors classes are great though. They typically have about 20 students and the professors really look forward to teaching them. Your classmates will be a little bit smarter than the rest of the student body - but this is a good thing, because profs know this and grading in honors classes is typically way more lenient than regular classes. I've taken I think 7 honors classes and have 6 A's and a B+. Plus you get special advising, treatment, etc. if you are in the honors program.
