Honors program?

Does anyone know it W&M has an honors program? If so when do you find out if you got in it? And how do you get in?

there's the College Scholars and the Monroe Scholars... I believe all have been notified. You can apply for a Monroe scholarship after your first year though.

there is no honors program in terms of what youre thinking of

W&M grad here with a son who was accepted. Son probably will be going but choice is between three -- W&M, Ithaca College, and U. Delaware (in-state for us).

W&M does not have an honors program like you are thinking of -- just being accepted is the honors program. My son was accepted into the honors programs at UD, U. Maryland, and American U. Generally, the sort of honors program you are thinking of is something you see at the larger schools to offer something special to the top students -- the students for whom they are trying to compete with W&M (and Princeton, UVa, Duke, Georgetown, etc.).

Also, as a state school with reasonable tuition for in-state and sort of reasonable for out-of-state (compared to Princeton, Penn, Georgetown, etc.) there will not be nearly as much merit aid attached to any sort of honors or scholars programs.

But it is a great school and a great experience and I have never regretted choosing W&M over Penn, UVa, and Virginia Tech (27 years ago). Very proud of my son who chose to apply to W&M on his own.

Good luck to you!
