Does anyone know what the acceptance rate for the program is or how difficult it is to get into? I wasn’t really considering the university until I realized I got into the program, and am trying to decide if it’s worth it over another college whose honors program I’m not enrolled in.
Not sure why acceptance rate would be a determining factor. My advice is to consider what the program - and the university overall - have to offer you and have that lead you to a decision.
@yotommy I shouldn’t have worded it like that, I just mean is it a selective program that will look good for grad school? I’m doing premed, and I know GW is more geared towards the political sciences so I’m wondering how much the honors program will help in the long run if that makes sense
Would you mind sharing your stats? I’m curious, I was a little disappointed I got into Villanova’s Honors but not GW’s. Congrats though!!
@julia1611 Thanks! Congrats on Villanova and best of luck w/ everything!

Counselor rec: Generic af, I would imagine. 6
English teacher rec: Love him, insanely fantastic, like a 12 lol, but idk how much weight it held since I’m doing biomedical and not english
Ap environmental science teacher rec: 7 probably, great guy and we’re very close but he prob didn’t make it very academic, more on me as a person, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I wasn’t anything special his class academics-wise
@ri0tvan - Med schools are going to be looking at your GPA, MCAT scores, research experience, and letters of recommendation, not the school you go to, or honors or not. If you are serious about med school, go to the school that will give you the best pre-med education, the highest GPA, and good opportunities for research.
BTW, GW honors college does match up students with research opportunities.
