Honors Program

if it'll help you all, i got my acceptance in early january, and my acceptance into Honors in mid-Febraury.

Damn, seven dual enrollment, do you sleep?

I forgot to add that my Michigan essays sucked too. Accepted nov 7th.

Well, I should point out that the dual enrollment credits won't count for U of M, actually. Maybe some, but they were counting as classes for high school too, and none ran later than 6:00pm, and that was only twice a week. I did have days like 6:00-6:00 of school though. Last year.

If they counted for high school credit, according to U of M policy they shouldn't count for credit here. But the system isn't perfect, so there's some chance you might get credits out of it. I think your best bet is if the University gets an actual transcript from the university/college. If it appears on your high school transcript pretty clearly as a college course...I dunno.

I sent them transcripts from all the colleges, I got As or A-s in all the classes.

Well, I don't know.

You guys will probably get it soon--I got accepted Nov 7th? Was that when the first batch of acceptances came out?

Anyway, I wrote my essay, so that's probably why.

ACT score didn't help me, but my 10 AP classes probably did. (just to let you know that they probably do look at your academic record.

What's considered late (it's rolling after all)? I'm kind of borderline...(below avg GPA, avg ACT). I just emailed them and I'm waiting the mailed letter with the essay prompts.

10 ap classes is a lot, probably why you got is so soon, because that is a really difficult courseload.

How do you take 10 AP classes in school but only get a 29 on the ACT? Geez, all high schools are so different!:)

how were you notified that you were accepted to honors? via snail mail or email? did you write an essay? stats? any scholarship info with your acceptance to Honors? Congrats and thanks?

snail and e mail.

yes.

impressive.

no.

only congrats.

:)

When did you apply to honors and when did you find out?

BTW, I love your location, I should change mine to "localhost"

well i applied after i got my acceptance in umich. they sent me an invitation into Honors, i applied, that was in early january. in mid-february they sent me an Honors acceptance.

we're total geeks. :D:D

Err...did anyone else get into honors? (As in for class of 2007)

Anyway, I got it through snail mail.

I did the essay: but didn't really spend time on it because I just had too much stuff to do.

I got a scholarship (MSA: 60,000 for 4 years), but that was a weekish after my acceptance, so it didn't come with the honors info

Stats- I'm not outstanding, but it's not like I've failed a class before.

I think it's still too early to tell for sure.

You might have gotten in already because of the strength of your application, or maybe OOS status. Who knows.

i got accepted to the honors program..last week? i believe. but i didn't write the essay or even send them the email saying i wanted to be considered. is that normal?

I think qualified people get invitations.

Yeah, if you are really amazing, I think they just automatically accept you. That's quite a feat, so good job.

anyone know how many students are in the honors program each year?

Anyone else get in yet?
