Honors program

How do you apply for the honors program at uiuc? I've already gotten accepted and sent in my housing contract. I'm going to the business school btw. thankx

bump........

Which one? There are two. First off James Scholars pretty much selects you if you are in the top 15% of the college and then if you are in the top percent of James Scholars they will send you an application to be in the Campus Honors Program (aka Chancellor's Scholars) and then they narrow it to about 125 students. It's a pretty cool process. So good luck and if you don't get it they are always looking for students that acheived their freshman semester and you can apply then.

Okay, so they send you letter and tell you if you'v been accepted to James scholors? Or do I have to apply for it? (i'm an entering freshman)

Yeah, that's how it works. There is not a separate application for the James Scholar Honors program.

My daughter was named a James Scholar in the college of LAS and she just checked a box on her application for admission saying she wanted to be considered for those types of things. She was notified by mail in mid January. Also in mid January she got a letter saying they were going to call to interview her for a James Newton Matthews Scholarship. They did call and within a week she received a letter saying she was being offered a Matthews Scholarship ($2000/year). She most recently received a letter asking if she would like to be considered for the Campus Honors Program. She was required to return a postcard indicating her interest. I think they said they would contact her in April with that decision.

Yes april. It felt like the greatest honor ever getting in CHP. Now I may not be in it after this semester. I tried tho. I hope I stay in.
