Honors Program

Does anyone know if there's an earlier date for the Honors applicants to hear back? Are there any current Honors students who could tell me about last year? Also, how tough is it to get in?

I don't think there's an earlier date...I'm sure someone on these boards would have heard if that were the case. I talked to a an admissions rep and she said that they use the essays to make their decisions about Honors program because everyone is usually academically qualified.

anyone know about GW's honors program? How does it compare to American's?

did you have to apply for the honors program or do they give you the oppurtunity to be in it based on your application?

You have to apply for the Honors program at GW. It includes an extra form, extra recommendation, extra essay and a list of all the books you've read in the last year (pretty common application among other honors programs)

at American, you are automatically placed in the honors program if you are in the top 15% of their applications. This usually means you will be receiving merit aid as well.

If you didn’t apply for GW’s honors, you can apply once you’ve completed a semester or a year, i can't remember

thanks for the info. i guess i have to get admitted first though. haha :)
