Honors Program?

Is there any indication of admission to the Honors program on the Application Summary page? How do I find this out? Or when?

I think they tell you later on in the year. Are you automatically submitted or is there an official submission or request form?

I think it's automatic, which leads me to believe that the Honors Program people will only contact you IFF you are admitted.

There is no separate application for the honors programs (campus honors or the James Scholar honors programs for each college). Usually, you do not get an offer to join any of the honors programs untill after all admission decisions have been made (e.g., after Feb 15). The reason for that is that honors status is determined by where you stand in relation to all others who have been admitted.

ooh, understood. MUCH thanks!

I'll also add that it depends on your college. I'm in engineering James Scholars which I know has a formula (33 or above on ACT or a certain class rank) that automatically gets you into it. With that said, I still didn't hear from the James Scholar program until March or April.

On the other hand, business James Scholars and LAS, etc. have less definitions of what makes the program so acceptance isn't as easy to know.

I'm also in the Campus Honors Program. They too notify around March/April.

Hope this helps.

business is less definitive....more on essays and GPA since the site doesn't have a set ACT score...

maybe i missed the info, but what perks are available for honors students besides the accreditation on your diploma?

Events, networking, meeting professors, smaller class sizes....oh and early registration << big plus

sweet...looking forward to it then hopefully

I really hope I get honors simply for the early registration.

Yes its sooo worth it. I registered 3 or 4 weeks before other freshmen. You can really design your schedule and get the classes you want. If you're accepted to the honors program, join :)
