Well I guess I’m wondering if I was admitted into the Honors Program. I’m a University Scholar if that impacts the status. On the CAS Dean’s Invitation that is in my login account, it says that there is a special reception for Honors Program students. So I guess I’m in…?

Is there anyone else considering the special housing or even attending one of these receptions? I live in AZ right now and I don’t know if it is actually worth a trip out to Boston for the Open House and this reception (I lived in Boston over the summer).

Well your stats are actually really similar to mine and since we both received the University Scholarship, my best guess is that you are also in the Honors Program. I guessed that I was in it my clicking on the RSVP for CAS Open House invitation right off of the Applicant Link page. Mine said that I was invited to attend the reception following the Open House for Honors Program students. I would check to see if yours says the same....I imagine it will.

bummer... I don't have an invitation to the Honors Program. I have an invitation to attend a CAS open house, but nothing on that site says anything about an Honors Program. I'll call them up on Monday and see if I am accepted to it or not.

Also, I didn't receive a University Scholarship - I recieved a University Supplement Grant. In fact, all my aid from BU is in the form of grants/loans - I didn't receive any merit aid directly from them...

caligurl: I'm in the same position. I'm considering the special housing, but I heard on another thread that it's not exactly very social. I'm afraid on missing out on the whole freshmen experience and I would like to meet my fellow classmates. I was in Boston over the summer too and I doubt I can afford the trip. So I don't think I'm going to the Open House.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm already thinking about majoring in biochem...that should be enough to ruin my social life!! And i actually haven't seen the honors housing so I will probably stick to the freshman dorms. I may put it down...but I won't put it as the most important question/factor. I'm sure there will be diversity in the honors housing but I think it would be more fun to be in the regular dorms.

I've decided not to go to the open house either. I'd like to but I really can't afford all of these trips. Plus there is orientation and I'm working in D.C. over the summer. AGH!! The cost of all these plane tickets are giving me migraines!!!

The brownstones are absolutely beautiful. Don't worry about choosing the honors house despite not having seen any of these dorms. All you have to consider is the social aspect. Unfortunately, a social life comes in only one form in freshman year: massive buildings, paper thin walls, and security guards ; )

Finally heard I am in Honors. 1540 SAT and my other info on RD thread. I don't plan to live in the Honors Houses though since it seems stuck up and I want to make lots of friends but if any of you live there you can invite us over since its they are such nice places.

I think S's invitation to the Honors College came today in the snail mail.
Drummerboy, like you he doesn't want to live in honors housing. Warren Towers is his top pick.
