Honors Program

So I was thinking about applying for the honors program for UCLA. :D

Wondering: How hard is it to get it? Is it purely based on your essay? >_<

Comment: I dun like the essay topic -_______- sigh~~~

starry~*

Use the search function. There are hundreds of threads/posts on this topic.

uhh, from what I hear, it's purely based on gpa. the essay is a formality. In fact, i applied for honors winter of my second year, and i didn't even have to write an essay

bruinboy: wat gpa would that be? :)

For freshmen, there are two options. You need both a weighted GPA of at least 4.1 and an SAT score of at least 2080/ACT score of at least 31. The other option is to be in the top 3% of your class.

Applying for the Honors Program

^^^I realize you need those qualifications, but is everyone who writes a half-decent essay admitted? The factors you mentioned are only part of the qualification; the essay is the second part...

"the essay is a formality"

this is correct. just suck it up and do it... you'll regret it if you don't apply just because there's an essay! (it's only 500 words...)

ahh, I see :P

I was just wondering how much time I should spend on my essay :P
I'll just wing it then >_<
