If you have over a 4.0 Weighted GPA for UF and you have a the SAT requirement (1400 i think) then do you automatically get Honors? Or is there some sort of process that goes into that?

bumpitybump

Why do you have to post such a stupid reply?
If you have anything meaningful to say, then say it. If not, then don't waste your time or any of ours.

And I'm not sure about the Honors elegibility/process. Try searching the honors website for info.

k anybody that can answer my question and not gripe about it?

that would be much appreciated :)

Oh sorry. I didn't realize that the "bumpitybump" came from the same person as the original poster. I'm really sorry :) I just thought it was some idiot trying to be stupid. Sorry again.

I am 90% sure that you are automatically admitted. I believe that was the case last year. However, I'm not sure if it changed over the summer.

Now that they consider the writing portion of the SAT, I believe you receive an invitation if your SAT has a combined score of 2070.

to sbrady1028: no biggie lol.

to admiralllama and vincanity1: thanks :)

Another quick question:

if so many people fill that requirement how many honors students are there every incoming freshman class?

and what are the perks to being honors? besides all the "you have honors on your transcript" stuff, lol

Thanks in advance guys.

One major perk is you get to register first (at least that's how it used to be)

^^
You only get priority registration for honors courses, not for the rest of your schedule ... which is a bummer. <g> You also get access to live in Hume, honors housing, if you so desire. And ... hmmm... not sure about the rest of it. I know that they're currently searching for a new honors director so I don't know if there might be any changes when he/she comes on board. Frankly, if it weren't for Hume I'm not sure if we'd even consider honors (and even then I'm not sure it's worth it), I've not heard a lot of positive feedback from kids from our area we know who've been it. So, I'd love to hear some positive feedback from anyone who's currently in honors. </g>

zebes, who's d is eligible for honors assuming she's admitted

If by any chance you are a National Merit Scholar, I am under the impression you get priority registration for all classes throughout the 4 years (except for 1st semester courses which are selected at Preview). FYI - for a UF National Merit Scholarship, the deadline to indicate UF as a first choice is April 1st. I was really surprised by that little tidbit because many other schools give you more time.

thanks zebes, sunset31.

sounds like the honors program isn't so great afterall.
