Honors Program

Has anyone accepted RD heard about admittance to the Honors Program yet? I think the official notification date is May 1st, but last year it looked like some heard around April 1st.

My son's admitted and 99% certain he's attending. Making the Honors Program would make things a little nicer.

DS was deferred from EA Honors to RD, and has not heard anything yet. He did get his regular EA admission.

My D received notification that she was accepted to the honors program … somewhere near to the beginning of March.

I applied early action for the school, but at the deadline for the honors program and I heard back two days ago. Hope that helps and good luck!!

Heard back today, DS did not make Honors. Declined his admissions and Madison Achievement Scholarship so maybe one of you’all will get to use it :)

that’s unfortunate - sorry to hear that. He’ll be fine wherever he goes as long as he makes the most out of it.

My son heard last week; he didn’t get in. Very odd – he was accepted by Virginia Tech’s University Honors, and he’s been awarded a JMU Second Century Scholarship. Of the three, we thought he had the best chance at JMU’s Honors Program. Who said these things make sense?

While it was unexpected that he not get in, esp. considering the scholarship he was offered, it did make the decision much easier. DS has a few other really great offers within Honors colleges ranging from 80% to full tuition+. JMU never made financial sense in comparison, did not fully realize to what extent when he applied.

Good Luck to those of you joining JMU class of 2014!

Daughter was ASKED to apply honors last year, then they did not accept her. First semester grades, 4.0, they asked her again to please apply for honors. After the rejection, she turned them down, this time.

^ sounds like a smart girl you’ve got there  If they weren’t wiling to take the chance on her at the start, can’t really see jumping in after she has proven herself.
