Hi, I'm an incoming undergraduate freshman student who was invited to join the honors program this fall and I had a questions about classes. I know that the honors programs offer honors versions of many intro classes and was wondering, is it mandatory that we take every one of those honors version of the classes or can we take some regular versions of the classes (even if they have an honors section offered)? Such as if I wanted to take the Calculus II class but chose the regular section instead of the honors section. Thanks.

You are NOT required to take all those classes. You have to take two total classes (recommended in your first semester) that are honors versions of normal/intro classes. You are allowed to take more, of course, but the minimum is 2.

So you could definitely take Calc II non-honors. Just make sure you’re meeting their minimum requirements.

I’m in the honors program btw so if you have other questions feel free to ask :)

Ah okay, is that 2 classes per year or per semester? Thanks for the help btw. :)

2 classes total, ever. All the other HP classes you will take will be Special Topics classes, of which you have to take 3 total, recommended in your 2nd, 3rd, and 4th semesters at Tech. The Honors Program is designed as a 2 year program, though you are allowed to take HP classes at any point.
