I am very interested in Notre Dame, and I think I have a good shot at getting in, but I am wondering who qualifies for the honors program. Here on CC I have seen the Glynn Family Honors Program mentioned, as well as the Hesburgh-Yusko program. Are these both honors programs? What is the difference between the two? Who qualifies? I know that admission to ND is a not a sure thing, but if I were to get in, could I possibly qualify for an honors program?
My stats:
GPA: 99.3 weighted (unweighted is somewhere around a 94) with the most rigorous schedule my school allows
SAT: 2300 (750CR, 750M, 800W)
ACT: have not taken yet
Extra-curriculars: lots of leadership in clubs at school, recreational soccer, some volunteer work
Legacy: one parent

You do seem qualified for Notre Dame, but you are general in your ECs. Also the essays are one of the most important components.

Only a small portion of the top 1% of applicants get into either honors program. It is very hard to get. I would not go in expecting to get honors because you might not even get into the school itself.

I believe your ACT score will be a very important factor in admissions, let alone an offer for the Honors program. Also, Glynn Family is only available to College of Science and College of Arts and Letters students.

Thanks for the responses. I understand the uncertainty of being admitted, and I don’t expect to get into the honors program, but I am still wondering about the difference between the two programs. Any insight would be helpful!
