Honors Programs...

Right now Im attending a community college, and plan on transfering to the best possible college I can get into. I was just wondering if going into the honors program will make me look alot better to colleges, or if it will affect me that much at all.

Thanks

I’m confused…are you asking if you should be in the honors program at your community college? What CC has an honors program?

Im wondering if being in an honors program looks good to colleges that i want to transfer to.

OK…again I ask…what community college has an “honors program”?

Austin Community College has one.

Yes (10 char)

So to the OP…IF your community college offers an honors college program that you have to apply to and be accepted to, I would say, this would be a smart thing to do. If you just sign up for the courses and there is no criteria for acceptance, then I personally think it would make no difference at all.

if i were you yes i would do an honors program because you have more opportunities to get into a good school and possibly get some pretty good scholarships. for example at my cc enrolling into our honors program can get you into washu and webster with the opprotunity to compete for a full ride.

Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois

You can join it if you have a 3.2+ gpa, and if you meet that one requirement you are able to sign up for the classes that they offer (as long as you have the pre req but thats nothing).

The only thing that, I think, would look good is that on my transcripts is that it will say it was an honors class. Also, depending on how many honors classes i take it will either say honors participant (9 hours) or honors scholar (18 hours).
