Honors Quad - what are the pros and cons of living there?

My son is interested in living in the Honors Quad - any information on living there? Thanks.

My d lives there and really likes it. It’s quiet for sleeping and studying. She said those who party go elsewhere to do so. It’s next to Pullen Park and there’s a nice courtyard with benches and a volleyball pit in the middle. Clark Dining Hall is very convenient. Some of the Honors seminars are held in the Quad which is also nice. There are social and cultural opportunities for Honors students that are free of charge. We thought the dorms were nicer than the rest we toured on campus. The bathrooms are shared on the floor, but they are kept clean and every room has its own sink. I guess a con could be that it is on the edge of campus, but d doesn’t seem to find that to be an issue. I’ll ask if she has anything else to add.

Thanks NeedAvacation - appreciate that and anything else!

You’re welcome. D added that the Honors Quad has a nice, community feel. She thinks the location is actually fairly central to main campus and she loves having the dining hall attached to it.

Thanks again!

Honors Quad has been a home run for my student. Nice rooms. Nice dorms. Great kids there. Good location - fairly centrally located and near dining hall. Based on his experience - highly recommend the honors quad. He also loves his honors class.
