I'm a soph @ FJC and want to know if PE courses can be marked as Honors with the consent of the teacher. THANKS!

falcon bump

okay im bumping

can i put a pe course as honors if i get the teacher to agree?

Do PE courses even transfer?

i think most do not.

btw if i was an admissions councelor and i saw Honors PE i would laugh at you and then reject you without looking at the rest of your application.

PE courses transfer, but check ASSIST to be sure.

You can put PE Honors as long as your official transcript will also say so.

But, really, PE "Honors"? Does your teacher make you run an extra lap or what?

Can any teacher make the course honors? if you ask?

can you even check assist on a course by course basis? i dont recall that feature, i only remember it being major by major. Are they doing it course by course now?

DamItsJOhnny- that depends on your Community College, not all CCs offer honors contracts. Usually you ask the teacher to fill out a contract with you and then give it to the registrar or counseling office and the course becomes an honors course, in my CC the contract would outline what the extra work you planned on putting in was and stuff of that nature.

PE is transferable, but there's a maximum unit limit. So, be sure to read the catalog.

Malishka, one can select one's CCC, then click on UC Transferable Courses, then just select the CCC's department, like Physical Education

I've attended FJC for the last two years and I'm 99% sure that there aren't any honors PE classes nor can a teachers 'mark' a class as honors. Not only that, why would you even take a PE class? It's a waste of time unless you're shooting for your associates. And we all know, those are pretty worthless.
Take an academic honors class & then get TAP certified. Talk to the pregnant Asian honors counselor at the Cadena transfer center. She knows her *****.

haha.. i'm in an honors PE course!

even it's Honors, the UC won't look at it. believe me

alansda- i tried to do my community colleges and UCLA- for some reason none of it is avail by department. They have it for UCSD and stuff but not UCLA. that is probably why i never noticed it b4. Thanks thought

haha, seriously...do you just have to run an extra lap or something in honors PE?

it would depend on your course- some PE courses have exams. In my CC the weight training course had an actual exam and you had to identify muscles, ligaments, etc.

Does anybody know if you can do this at FJC?

EDIT: I'm talking about honors contracts.

Honors Program, Fullerton College

read that and then email the Honors counselor and ask.

It doesnt look like they have honors contracts but that is probably because they actually offer a lot of honors courses

the PE class i'm taking is health science, so it's just like any normal lecture class except that it counts for PE credits & was a part of the honors program.
